Old films that you like to re-watch or watch for the first time?
|
Am currently watching 10 Rillington Place for the first time, absolute great acting by the dear departed Richard Attenborough as John Christie.
Also like re-watching True Grit just for the great self parodying of the John Wayne character.
You cunts?

I'll always sit and watch...
Donnie Brasco

Early Woody Allen stuff but especially Annie Hall
Ealing comedies but especially School for Scoundrels
Alien
Breakfast Club
Riffifi
Dazed and Confused
Loads and loads basically.

Night Of The Hunter - with big bad Bob Mitchum. One of the most atmospheric films ever.
Bring Up Baby - probably the best example of 'screwball comedy'.
The NeverEnding Story - the gift that keeps on giving.

Can re-watch most Coen Brothers film at any point, in particular Barton Fink, The Man Who Wasn't There, Inside Llewyn Davis and A Serious. Not their best, according to some, but I love them.
Also recently watched for the first time Serpico, Once Upon a Time In America, Angel Heart and Serpico. Liked them all. Need to watch Citizen Kane and Gone With The Wind from start to finish.

I quite enjoy the old Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes films. I love the way he takes the piss out of Lestrade for being a thick cunt.
